aaron11: Shame it dont record at that price i fit did. would knock sky off the market a bit.. nevermind lol They wouldn't do anything to cannibalise their own service, so it is not unexpected that it doesn't. I however thought it maybe able to record pay per view shows, on a show by show basis, if you connect a USB stick. But perhaps not.

That could only work if they made a lot of things pay per view, which they don't currently as you're expected to purchase the whole sports channel as well. ie no good for Rugby/League/F1 as currently that's not offered as a pay per view item. Might be different if it's streamable etc though, but why not just allow people to subscribe to iSKY only for instance? Hoping it's good, don't get me wrong

I've been keen for a sport only subscription for over 15 years. Been considering ditching my $90 package again recently cos I only want sports but resent paying for $50 worth of uninteresting (to me) crap. (mysky traps you in a bit incidently, because you don't want to give away your box of recorded content) heres hoping igloo will finally offer the solution for me!

The igloo product interests me as a lot of the channels on Sky I am not interested in and do not watch. I wish Sky would serve up their channels a Smorgasbord and the customer can pick and mix and not have to buy package A, or B or C. mm1352000: They're testing with 1 mux at present - around 39 Mbps. http://www.nzdtv.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-3467.html There's only one frequency licensed in SMART out here (BOP/Te Aroha).

They should've made a service where you can choose the sky channels you want and have them permanent rather then the 30 day pack they offer

Hi, From an article I read in stuff: Channels available for about $25 a month include BBC World News, UKTV, BBC Knowledge, Vibe, Kidzone24, MTV Hits, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Comedy Central, Food TV and TVNZ Heartland. Igloo also allows users to download movies for an extra charge. The Igloo website also states: Paying 24/7 for the privilege of sports can be a frustration for those of us who just want a big game or special event every now and again. IGLOO allows you to access the best sports live as pay per view events, without the contracted kick in the wallet. I wouldn't be interested in most of those channels for $25.

I know but my kiddos watch discovery & Disney channel nonstop as well as nickelodeon and I watch CNN so non of our families favorite sky channels are on there so I want the choice of deleting unwanted channels. You should just pay 0.45c per channel.

I'm just guessing but if you wanted 2 channels its 90c per month (this is for the sky channels only not freeview)

Mainly because there's 100 channels and since the current sky channel bill is 45$ if you wanted all 100 channels you would be paying $45 (note my sums are probably horrifying wrong

Full price I pay $129 for 56 networks (channels) but to break it down even more: $20.70 5 movie and $25.29 for 6 Sport so $45.99 for 11 channels, you see for the premium stuff you sums are slightly off.

That's not the business model they were going for, probably because as a business, they wanted to make money. If you could pay per channel, pick & choose, I think the prices would be a lot higher that people expect.

Nothing of interest there, but the lineup has been out for a while. What would be interesting is if they offered (for example) the whole NRL season for a ppv price, i would take that up and would pay ~$100 for the privilege. Im wondering what they will charge for sports PPV, how much is an All Blacks game likely to set you back? Overall Sky's PPV prices are generally pretty good, well for HBO boxing etc anyway, we get the fights here for $25 whereas in the states they are paying $69usd. However when its sky's own inhouse PPV they ramp up the charges, $39 to watch Sonny Bill? you have to be joking!
