Yes it has come up, and the answer is no.

Wonder if they would do a season ticket kind of deal? I would buy a season ticket for all the warrior's game (play offs if they make, I have faith) as not interested in 15's I would not get the benefit of sky sports in the winter, this idea could work they are broadcasting it anyway on their premium service.

I was thinking the same thing. Would pay $100 or even more to watch all the league games. Probably $200 id be happy with. Maybe even $250 to cover Origin/RLWC

I guess you could ask them, but somehow I doubt they'd be interested. The people in the market that Igloo is targeted at only have a casual/passing interest in sports - ie. they only watch the odd big game of whatever kind now and then, and/or they are happy to watch delayed coverage on Prime.

You sound like the sort of person that Sky explicitly wants to keep as a Sky subscriber. They don't want to make it easy for you to get what you want from Igloo because it means less money for them. There is no guarantee that they would broadcast all the Warriors games on Igloo Front Row. There could be clashes with other games or other sports. Keep in mind that Igloo is also SD rather than HD for sports via Front Row.

As people have already said previously, your current choice is $75pm for Sky Sport for all the sport you can watch or $75 for ~5 Igloo events events (supplemented with delayed coverage via Prime). Sky do not want Igloo to cannibalise Sky's premium subscriber base.

richms: Its standard def and they are hardly trying, why put your money up on something that they clearly dont really care about?

Yeah, the channels you pay extra for are just SD and that is a bit disappointing. On the plus side they're MPEG4/H264 and look way better than on satellite.

I am actually impressed with the quality of BBC Knowledge and UKTV.

don't mess with me.... i'm the hd insider....

When I can torrent the same content in 720 or 1080, I am not even going to give it a second thought to pay for it in a compromised form.

I got one from Noel's, and it seems ok. I know it is not stunning with most of the non FTA being SD but it is ok. I asked the bloke when I got it about if it was a PVR, and he said they were releasing a patch to turn it into a PVR and all that was required was an attached USB HDD. He reckoned it would auto up date end of Jan or Feb sometime. Anyone know anything about it?

The only update I know of is the media player to play photos and music from an attached device. The attached USB memory key (not an HDD) is used for the live TV pause feature.

They always said "No PVR" but if it changes, then it would be a contender against TiVo, for sure.

I doubt the sales person would know anything about it though. More likely to be someone eager to sell another box and make his commission.

Just bought an IGLOO box from Noel Leeming this afternoon. Pretty straight forward install, only one issue is that Channel 1 and 2 on conventional Freeview now no longer work using the RF signal "loop through" the IGLOO STB. This is however not really an issue as all channels work just fine on the IGLOO STB.

My 85 year old mother is very happy with the 11 channel pack, all she wanted was some more channels to supplement FREEVIEW HD, doubt she will order movies or sport but STB is connected via wifi.

The exta 11 channels are just what she wanted, she didnt want the number of channels SKY offers or the price.

One question if anyone knows, having signed up for the 11 channel pack will it roll over automatically each month and her credit card be automatically debited?

I have checked many set top boxes,  its not uncommon to see between 6 and 10 db of loss through the LOOP out  .
suggest you get a UHF rated F type Splitter  and abandon the loop

From their IGLOO Channels page:

"Each month you have the option of boosting your IGLOO experience by purchasing an IGLOO Channel Pack. Channel Packs cost just $24.99 and give you access to the 11 great channels below for 30 days. And if you want to make your life even easier, you can ask IGLOO to automatically renew your Channel Pack each 30 days so you don't need to remember!"

You decide if it's a one off or recurring subscription.

Looks like Igloo isn't going to be showing the NRL All Stars match on Sat 9th Feb. What a shame.
