Hi All,

Does anyone know if Sky has any plans to offer an HD decoder without the MySky functionality?

I have a media PC that handles all of my recording but am stuck with an SD decoder as I don't want/need the MySky recording capability but it seems this is the only way to get HD content - particularly for sport which is what I watch most of.

Cheers

You should be able to decrypt the HD channels in your HTPC with the appropriate cam(s) and any blue card. I certainly can in my vuduo

They have no plans. And to be honest they would be stupid, Sky are in it for the money, not to offer customers what they want.

Effectively the MySky device is an HD-capable decoder that comes with a PVR - there is no other HD-capable decoder that they offer that I know of.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a 'cam'? Is there anywhere online I can get some instructions on how to implement the decryption?
