Personally finding the background noise incredibly irritating and over powering all other aspects of the game. So much so I have resorted to watching the games on mute until sky or OB can filter it out!

Interested to know other peoples thoughts on this forum as I am surprised to read on stuff.co.nz that no one has complained to Sky about it.

Is it just me and I need to get over it or are there other similar minded people?

soccer ( or football ) is not my thing, but was in the pub watching one game, and the sound drove me mad. decided then i wouldn't watch another game haha. can you tweak the freqs on your tv set or HT to drop out the low freq hum?

its even worse with 5.1 sound, it just gets isolated on to a couple of speakers and it sounds like you are in a bee hive,

A good sportsman has the ability to "switch off" any and every interruption around them.

I have switched audio commentary from the Sky commentator to the alternative (same commentator as was running on TVNZ) and it seemed to have a much quieter background to it.

I feel like grabbing a vuvuzela and shoving it up the inventor's arts!!!

Some clown had one at the club I played against on Saturday...God those things are loud! take a trumpet, add an airhorn and you'll know what i mean.

I feel so sorry for anyone that's actually there.

I hope they start to filter them for our broadcasts...I hate the sound...it's ruining the greatest sporting event in the world.

If your AV / TV allows you some equalisation control, a notch @ 300Hz will mask out most of the drone.

As a side note, I read somewhere that the local NZ importer has sold out of several thousand of these danged things. Hope that they don't make any inroads into our sporting events. Mooloo bells are one thing, and are local colour, but these damned things are an import, and we don't need them here !!!

I've only watched one game on One, but I didn't find them that annoying.

They drive me crazy, so much so I won't watch the games now.

It obviously would be better without it.
