I would almost consider getting sky if they had the SyFy channel.

+1.  But I don't think you will see a SyFy channel anytime soon considering that TV3 just dumped "The Event" to a late nite dead spot next  week  before it finished.  NZ networks don't see ScFi fans as worthwhile viewers..

That's the reason why we need something like Netflix over here in NZ. I can't wait for that day!! I would sign up in a heartbeat.

Sorry for the hi-jack. Back on topic... :)

ESPN HD. Champions league (or anything) looks crap on my 40 inch tv, not even SD.
and FA cup coverage. ( I don't see any alternative to streaming the Liverpool Man Utd game this monday)

also that is why we need syfy as networks look to make only advertising $s where as a niche/specialty channel sells both advertising and also $/subsciber

I want to be able to have pay per view. Sky have not heard of the internet or VOIP (there are rumours about isky though so maybe they have heard of the internet)

Not having the box connected to sky is a pain as we have voip. isky doesn't appeal as the mysky allows us to watch stuff when we want anyway.

Surely they could easily do something with the RJ45 on the back of the unit.

That's what I said! But the answer was that the Ethernet port wasn't currently being used, it may be in the future.... There has been an RJ45 on the mysky since the silver box Mysky 1 appeared so I am not holding my breath.

I would like more channels maybe spread them across both D1 and D3 and better quality content as analogue broadcast tv looks better for some shows than sky!

You get the 1st 3 with Tivo with the home netwroking,  and don't pay any subscription, so sky should provide them. I don't  use them or ever intend to, so don't care, however if they had some competition I am sure they would lift their offerings.

Fix up the aspect ratios/screen sizes on Living and Food! Surely not that difficult. Really annoying when we watch that and there is a big black border around the whole picture (all 4 sides).

I suppose that comes down to needing more bandwidth on the satellites - so, use D3!
