Hi, guys.
I have my Sky signal split to my bedroom and lounge, so that I can move my MySky HDi to either place.  I'm currently thinking about buying a satellite receiver for the bedroom so that I could watch Freeview there when I don't have the MySky in the bedroom.  The Sky technician told me it's no problem to have one STB using freeview while another STB (MySky) uses Sky, connected to the same satellite.  (Is this right?)

So I'm thinking why not kill two birds with one stone.

Is it possible to buy a satellite receiver that has both PVR function and video input, which would enable me to plug my MySky into the PVR, copying recorded programs to an external hard drive? If such a product exists, I'd really appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Toys:  Samsung Galaxy S2 (Telecom), iPad 4, Roku, iPod Touch 4, Dell Inspiron 17R SE laptop, Sony 40CX520 TV, TiVo x2, Snap ADSL.

Not for Freeview Satelite. You can get them (I saw some from Panasonic and Sony at JB-HI) as a DVD recoreder with Freeview HD built in, but not sat.

The other thing to remember is the copyright protection on the MySky outputs.

Hmmmm

You can do what you want with a HTPC, with a satellite tuner card to tune Freeview, and a hauppauge HD PVR to connect the Sky box to.

As cisconz notes, some Sky content is copy protected. An HDFury will deal with that.
