Hey Guys,
I've brought home my My Sky box home from Uni and i've tried plugging it in using the coax cable between our already set up Freeview dish and the My Sky box. For some reason it can't find a signal.

I have already eliminated the dish being a cause as the Freeview works fine, I think it's the cable. When I had Sky down in my flat at Uni there was two cables going into the Input ports on the back of the My Sky box however at home there is only one coax cable, could this be the issue? If so where abouts would I be able to find the right cables to link the dish to the box?

Cheers,
Tom

If you have satellite freeview and that works fine, then the cable is fine.

Most likely you had a different lnb setting at your first location, so will need to adjust this in the sky box.

What type of sky box are you using?

Only need one cable plugged in, the two cables is for future proofing.

Try changing the LNB settings. Press Active, 1 4  0 7 5 9 then Select and you should be into the menu. The 1 and 4 should take you through to the systems setting menu, while there 0759 the Select will take you to the installer menu. Input New LO frequency 11300 (will be 10750 at present?)

To add to jacks comments the menu you are heading for is hidden, so once in the system setting menu pressing 0759 appears to do nothing till you hit Select.

And (obviously?) if your freeview is actually via UHF aerial and not a satellite dish, then this won't work for SKY reception either.

Thanks very much for the replys.

Just trying what was said, the "Updating listings Please wait..." seems to be taking a fair while (I could just be impatient however).

Will get back to you.

It wouldn't let me change the LO LNB frequency however the High LNB setting was on what you said it would be so I changed it to 11.3. The signal light is no longer red - good sign.

How quickly should it be getting the listings? Seems to be taking a while.

Update: Okay so the EPG loads now however the signal light has gone back to red and there is no picture. Is there any other settings that may need to be changed?
