Only just got My Sky a week ago and have found in two cases this week some sports when I set to record its cut the last 15min in one case (NZ vs SA 20/20 cricket) and with the NBA all star event today missed last 5 mins of the event.

Is this normal becasue its very anoying. I have it setup to automatic in recording setup for "add to end of recording". Should I change it to 10 min?

I just dont want to loose the end of live sports events if they run slightly long.

Or is only safe way to also record the show on after the event I want to watch.

Yup it's normal. And it's a pain in the ass. I have taken it upon myself to ring them atleast once a week and annoy someone about it. Gonna step it up and ring every day though. Takes a couple of tries to get through to a person instead of going on hold though lol. We pay $25 extra for this s**t and it doesnt work!!

There is the 'Extend 20 (or 10?) minutes' function. Pretty much have to use it every time I have found.

For live sports events you've basically always got to hit the red "Extend Recording" (adds 20 mins),  for instance the 20/20 at Eden Park got delayed by at least 5 minutes at the start, slow play etc can extend that out quite a bit...  (Sometimes it's also because Sky can't be bothered extending an international broadcast).

But why can't they send a signal over the air to tell MySky when a show starts/ends? Oh, wait, that will mean they have to develop something.

they usually do it with live sports, they did it this weekend with the golf , they kept putting the end time back until it finished about 35 minutes past scheduled time and it recorded until the new time.

Oh well at least its not just me. But thats pretty stupid on Skys part when you are paying for a preimum product and the reason I have it is to record live events when im not home.

Hopefully they come up with a way to fix it. But will just record live events longer to make sure I get them all from now on. 

Better add a few hours onto record time for the Daytona 500 today as looks like its going to be a rain delayed race :-)

My sky is set up to automatically add 10 minutes recording time to the scheduled finish of the programme. Touch wood I have not missed an ending in the 3 years that I have had My Sky
