Topic # 111672 10-Nov-2012 22:40 Send private message

Hi. My mother currently had MySky at her house - there are 2 rg6 cables from the dish going into the back of the MySky decoder. She is about to move in to a new house. The new house has a Sky dish with a single rg6 cable from the dish to the lounge.

Will she need to get Sky/an aerial installer to do anything to the new house dish wiring, or will it work without any fiddling around? If it will work, what is the point of the current 2 rg6 cables?

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - I did a search and looked through the results but I read differing info in different threads. Thanks.

If this is the original Mysky (non HDi) decoder I think she will need a splitter and run the feed to each tuner as I don't think they are looped through. Using a splitter was the way most were installed originally. If it is an HDi box a single LNB feed connected to LNB1 is fine as all tuners are looped through.

Although your title mentioned MyskyHDi the text didn't so it isn't clear which box you are talking about.

I didn't realise there were different decoders. I'm not sure which one she's got but it has two cables running to it. Are all the new my sky decoders HDi?

If it's a silver box, need to plug in two turners, if black only one.
