We've recently moved house & when I set the TV and MySky up I noticed there were 4 aerial inputs on the back of the mysky decoder (sky installer set it up at the last house). I screwed the sky dish into first input - no signal on any channel (viewing interrupted by atmospheric conditions) same with 2nd input. Tried 3rd input and success! got a signal on all channels - but now sometimes on TV1, 2 & 3 I get the 'Your viewing has been interrupted by 'Atmospheric conditions'... message come up, even when it is a crystal clear day. yet when I change to another channel it is fine. Why would I only get this message on certain channels, yet others are working fine? Surely if atmospheric conditions are a problem, then all channels would be affected We are in Auckland North Shore if that helps thanks

Hi, the correct input is LNB input 1, this is the most inner one, dont use the others. Cyril

I've often wondered what the other inputs are for on the mysky box. Anybody have any idea?

There are four tuners that are connected to a 4x4 multiway switch, thus depending on what supply volts (13V or 18V) that each tuner outputs and the presence or not of 22kHz determines which rear terminal is directed to each tuner. Technically this means that each tuner can select from both polarities (voltage selection) from two orbit locations (22kHz). In NZ we only have services on one orbit location and on one polarity, hence the firmware is configured to only work via LNB1. Cyril

The LNB could be on the way out. Ours did that. On hot days it would fail on some channels. When it happens again go and spray it with the cold water from the house and see if that makes a difference. Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Note 10.1, ASUS UX31e Ultrabook, Mysky HDi, 2talk

For me some channels get broken up when my DECT cordless phone base station is in a specific position near the STB. Move it 2cm in any direction (closer or further) and it is fine. DECT operates at 1.8GHz and interferes with some of the down converted channels (the LNB is actually a tuner that retransmits the RF at a lower frequency which is more efficient for distributing over coax, the STB then tunes into this lower frequency signal). You can never have enough Volvos!

In my case it was water ingress into the LNB which meant that, on hot days, channels would fail. Sky guy came out, replaced the LNB at their cost, and now all is well. If the problem persists, log a call with Sky on the 0800 number.

I just plugged the sky dish connection into input 1 and 2 and got no signal on any channel, then input 3 and got signal on everything except channels 1, 2 & 3 - then tried input 4 and bingo... all worked ok. the lady at sky said that input 4 is actually input 1 - if you turn the decoder around and look at the inputs from L to R it goes 1, 2, 3, 4..... I'm not going to argue - it's all working now and that's the main thing!

Yes as Cyril7 said input 1 is the innermost one. They are labelled too.....

I believe that the four inputs on the MySky were to tie in with the quad LNB's four outputs, to allow for possible future expansion of their channel numbers by using both polarities on two satellites, D1 and D3. It was the same reason why Sky got their Installers to start running twin cables on all new installations about six years ago. However Sky have obviously decided that they're not going to go down that road at the moment, because, about nine months ago, they instructed their Installers to go back to just running one cable.
