I see the US of A is about to get what lots of people around here have asked for a lot over the last few years - a mobile data allowance that can be shared across multiple devices.

Vodafone does this already for Corporates and APN billing

I think I know like, 2 people on a Vodafone Corporate plan. Hahaha. If the mass market could have access to it, you would have people flocking to you.

In the case of the US, it's hard to fathom how there are data caps at all given the price of transit is next to nothing.

Smells like artificial scarcity due to lack of competition.

Really shouldn't they be focused on ARPU and have different tiers of flat monthly fees for different combinations of services a la triple/quad play on one bill?

Would be interesting if someone offered on one bill:

mobile voice/data 
fixed voice
fixed internet
tv

This is the way Nordic countries are heading as far as I can tell.
