The Iron Lady is on CASPA from today. I will finally be able to use up some of my credit. Wonder which movie they will release next year?

I wonder if it's not too late for them to take a leaf out of Quickflix's book and charge a monthly fee for free downloads of their older titles? The business model must be more viable now with the installed base rocketing due to massive price cuts. I'd happily watch Crouching Tiger again, but there's no way it's fresh enough to count as PPV fare.

I sent a message to TiVo AU via Twitter asking / suggesting they create a subscription service. Considering I can hire a new release high definition bluray from the movie store for $6 I consider (my opinion) $6.95 is too expensive for what you're getting. I know others will disagree but a better model IMO would be similar to Quikflix with a flat rate monthly rate.

Pricing of titles is pretty much driven by the studios.

I'd pay if tivo did a subscription service. Netflix quality to me seems lower then live tv. When tivo had free music videos, quality was up to tv level there. Tivo downloaded to hard drive, verses netflix streaming and not storing any data so limited by internet speed.

^^ As would I. I looked through the selection of movies that Quikflix has and I considered it underwhelming. With that said, they have some great items that I like in the TV space :D Once the selection increases it could be a good option.

Just wish these new movies on TiVo would got to HD with 5.1 Sound.. SD is so yesterday.. Regards, Old3eyes

How are itunes movie rentals when it comes to quality? Caspa stuff is too expensive, compared to video shops for their older movies and tv shows. On certain days you can hire older movies for $1 each at my local video store.

With the increase in some ISP bandwidth allocation per month and Telecom is still unmetered it shouldn't be an issue.. Regards, Old3eyes

We watched it last nite. Good pix for SD. Great 5.1 sound track well my HT Amp said it was DD5.1 The movie was interesting but glad I didn't go to the theater to watch it.. I hope this is a start of some better movies to come. Maybe they should do some arrangement with Quickflix.. Regards, Old3eyes
