Seems that Tivo are making a major announcement on March 2 and the hype meter's crackling like a Chernobyl geiger counter.
Some of the rumours sound reasonably informed. I wonder if it will have any relevance to NZ?

The announcement was nice new software on slim new boxes from early April. However nothing in it for us.

Either poster "Bryan" is correct and our current boxes can't handle the snazzy new Flash-based software, or Tivo are frantically trying to upsell their customers. Unfortunately Tivo is not an Ipod and people aren't going to buy a new one every 6 months because there is no imperative to maximise tabletop/beltclip appeal.

Time for all potential buyers to put their wallets away until these new boxes arrive on our shores...

I'm happy with my tivo that very first came out here in NZ (Telecom) I wont be giving mine up till I know there is a major security threat with these one or there are a way higher version that has alot more things in it that would be good for me, and my flat mates, other then that, I am happy with what I have so far :D
