I can't seem to find a phone number to call TiVo support - only email and they take ages to reply. Does anyone know if they have a support number??

I'm having issues with the sound, i.e. it is cutting in and out after watching a channel for 10 minutes or so. To get the sound back to normal I change the channel and back again and its OK for another 10 minutes. I've done all the fault tests they asked and it is pointing towards a TiVo fault.

You could try the old 0800MYTIVO number but I think that just takes you to Telecom Broadband helpdesk. They will log a job for you and get you a replacement if needed...at least thats what happened to me.

You could try a reset. Turn off the unit and disconnect eveything for 6 hrs..then re-start

I don't think Hybrid in AU are giving much support at the moment seeing at they have all but closed up shop. I know the only contact is via email.

Thanks scuwp I'll give that a try. I'm getting very concerned about this. Is TiVo going under, down under? What happens to those with faulty TiVo boxes if they shut up shop?

Well they would say that regardless of the true situation  - they more or less have to.

If they came out and said "we are close to insolvency and probably won't be around in a year", which saying anything other than "we are fine, don't worry" essentially signals, then their sales and business would collapse almost immediately. No one would purchase from then (no EPG, product warranty worthless), supply stuff to them on payment terms other than cash in advance, or leave their current employer to accept a job with them.

If they want me to be confident, I would like to see their financial details (revenue, balance sheet, profitability, units shipping, CASPA revenues etc). Until then, it looks like a broken business with a broken product, steering straight for the rocks. (Tip: laying off virtually all their staff, refusing to disclose sales, no telephone number for support, Telecom apparently dumping the boxes below cost is a pretty good signal all is not well).

Mine loses sound sometimes and have to change the channel to fix it, but it is rare. Hope it isn't a problem that will get worse after reading your problem.

Yep mine started off with the occasional problem and got worse with time - perhaps it got worse with each power cut we had or maybe that was just a coincidence. But the last power cut we had was a strange one where it kind of came on and off about 3 or 4 times in a ten second period. After that power cut the problem was really bad. Either way I have surge protected the lot now.
