I've had some problems with Tivo recordings, especially season passes. Some issues were probably related to the recent posts about the EPG missing data, some to TV3+1 missing epg (still?), and some perhaps because I'm recording two programs one after the other on the same channel - which is what this question is about.

For example, I'd like to record TV3 news and Campbell Live. Normally I set up my recording to start and stop slightly earlier as in the past "on time" option sometimes missed the beginning and cut of the end. Does the extended recording options affect recording adjacent programs on the same channel? Is the situation the same for one time recordings?

In general, what are the best options for season pass and one-time recording?

A btw, am I correct in understanding that Tivo can record 2 programs at once AND allow you to watch something else?

No, it only has two tuners, so if you are recording on both, youcan only watch one of those channels, or watch a recording.

If you extend the recording so that it overlaps on another recording it will then have to use both tuners to record one channel
