Now I want more professional sound out of it for craft demo videos.
Shots will mainly consist of close up work like angle down with only arms/hands in shot. But really because there is so much that can be covered you need full shots as well.
This leaves me with my sound options.
So far I am looking at some lavalier clip on mics with a y splitter. Camera has mic input. (long cables though)
A zoom h2. Will give good recordings but get some ambient noise as well. More freedom as can add lav or shotgun mic and not have long cables.
Then there are shotgun mics. But require more effort to use/place and dont sound well from a distance. Trick if on my own at some stage.
I also want to be able to record on the move. Whether its some of our classes, craft stuff at a sunday market or at a craft show. Also being able to do interviews would be nice.
Unfortunatly like most things there is no universal solution. At the moment I am looking at the zoom and a spider mount to remove some vibration noise. Then find a way to mount it on the cold shoe on top of camera when I need it portable.
The h2 setup is looking like my best bet so far. Thoughts opinions. If h2 definitly get lav as well?
