Due to the recent high profile cases, I'm not going to list them here, this is a subject the is increasingly interesting me.

Personally, I'm pretty boring on Facebook and Twitter (I'm not on Twitter much at all these days). My rule is that I have open privacy settings but I don't post anything I wouldn't be happy for my mum or my boss to see, or that anything I could defend. The last thing I posted was that I went to the Marriage Equality rally in Civic Square, nothing to set the world alight. I don't put my political affiliations on my page.

I'm more vocal and opinionated here as I have a degree of anonymity and this isn't "my page" it is a forum where I engage in conversation but I'm not responsible for Geekzone. As far as I know I haven't personally attacked anybody, if you feel I have a take this opportunity to apologise, and I always attempt to not say anything on here that I wouldn't say to a persons face. But I have been opinionated, but everybody is entitled to an opinion, right?

My Facebook behaviour is different. A lot more 'vanilla' because I feel my Facebook page is a lot more likely to be seen as a reflection of me. I don't want future employers etc looking up my Facebook page and either seeing opinions that are controversial or, possibly worse, thinking I have something to hide. Personally, I don't think privacy settings are much use here due to the number of times Facebook has been hacked and employers 'asking' for access.

How do you approach to your social media profile?

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

I am quite liberal in posting my opinion on Twitter (which automatically flows to my Facebook profile). I do not post family photos though and if someone posts one of those mosaics with their "friends" and automatically tags my name I remove it.

Other than this, quite public. It wouldn't be much different as I already have a very public profile here anyway.
