richms: Anyone got a screenshot of this fool calling by them?

I did, but it's still in the recent comments section.? The SMCSR even came back to have another bash later on, it's just gold.

I think there is also someone from an unofficial wheedle facebook page using their logo that is posting comments.

As for Facebook - when I checked in a few hours ago I read one poster being called a fool by the Wheedle social media person.

As far as I can see, there has only been a total of 3 replies/comments by WheedleNZ on their facebook page.

This is the only one that I can see that comes close to "being called a fool" that was being referred to by Don.

That's not even CLOSE to calling someone a fool.

Precisely. I was grasping at straws with that screenshot, so I'm still not sure what Don is referring to.

Reported.
Their Facebook page description does say that it is indeed an "UNOFFICIAL fan page", but I doubt WheedleNZ wants to be mistakenly connected to such personal attacks, especially since they are already suffering from the effects of a less than stellar "launch".

At what point will they find themselves looking at quotes they received from NZ based developers and comparing to what they paid for the team they are currently using and thinking that was not a good idea after all. As others have pointed out these problems are not the result of simple code errors. These problems are the result of fundamental structural/architectural errors from the beginning.

An independent code review would have noted these architectural problems very early in development and sounded the warning bells.

Any kind of independent quality assurance involvement would have reported these very basic problems long ago.

It is clear the operators are still thinking the way forward from here is fix issue #n and put the site back up and wait for the next one. This is going to go on for a long time. There are some nasty noises coming from that engine and the only reasonable solution is take it off the road and find out what is really wrong with it.

Your mechanic is going to tell you - you will get to keep most of the body but you will need to rebuild the engine almost entirely.

Wheedle to Close for Updates – Will Relaunch

Wheedle, the new online buy and sell website, has today announced its intention to close for a thorough update of its systems and processes.

Wheedle managing director Carl Rees says the introduction of a new competitor in the online trading market has attracted an exceptional response.

“We have received an extraordinary level of interest from the New Zealand public, demonstrating the real demand for competition in this space,” says Carl Rees.

“However, operating issues were identified and our determination to ensure we can provide a level of service we are satisfied with means that we have elected to close the site until we can complete a comprehensive audit of our systems and make the necessary improvements.”

Mr Rees says Wheedle will be made available again when the management team are completely confident its performance and processes meet the standards expected by New Zealand consumers.

“We will return to the market when we are totally satisfied that the site will provide the high level of experience we want our customers to enjoy.”

“In the meantime, however, we would like to thank the New Zealand public for their interest and support, and we look forward to reintroducing Wheedle as soon as possible.”

No apology to their customers who had auctions running in their press release.
