richms: Do they limit you to one $4 bindle per week?

You can buy as many data Add-ons in a week as you like, but only one will renew automatically.  When purchased Add-ons run to your renewal date and so the cost is pro-rated i.e. if you buy mid way through your weekly plan it would cost $2 for 60MB

I do wonder if richms was referring to the base $4/week plans (Loose Lips/Busy Fingers) - can you stack more than one base plan?

"That means that all handsets from Telecom XT will work, and some others. Yes, that includes iPhones, Apple fans."
That is not exactly true as the original iPhone will not work.

I guess they are fixing all the problems fast as its already fixed. Geekzoners as testers?

In the wierd world of data, 8 bits (b) = 1 Byte (B); 1024 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte (KB); 1024 KB = 1 Megabyte (MB), 1,024 MB = 1 Gigabyte (GB).

Hi LivingSkinny.. You might want your web guys to fix up the results on Google for Skinny.. (search for "site:skinny.co.nz" on google and your'll see the problems)

Thanks - should come right soon

Hi guys and welcome. Can you please tell me if you have tested/extensively tested SMS sending and receiving with international networks? People have had problems in the past on 2 Degrees in the past with SMS not being received in one or both directions and it's been a major hurdle for people moving from Vodafone (which seems to have the best inter-operator SMS compatibility or arrangements).

Also with Skinny can I log into your website and get a rundown of usage?

Thanks!

Hi, I just checked the test results for international texting.  We tested to 235 countries and currently have issues with USA, American Samoa, Antigua & Barbados, Benin (didn't even know that was a country - sorry any Benininians out there!!), Bermuda and Congo.  We're on a temporary website at the moment.  When the full site launches you will be able to do all kinds of cool things, including check your usage.

kobiak: Do I supposed to get any confirmation email from online free SIM sign up?

I did it yesterday, first thing in the morning after I saw this topic. Got message on screen, that skinny would be in touch shortly, but was not.

Hi Kobiak, really sorry for this - we had a glitch with the form and took it down as soon as we realised.  Could you please call in on 0800 4 SKINNY (0800 475 4669) and the Skinny Reps will sort you out.

When do you intend to have a usage meter up and running so a customer can keep a track on their usage, how many minutes and texts they have used, when they last topped up, how much money they have in their account etc etc.

Hi Customers can check their balance using the Skinny Mobile Menu by calling *888# or through the IVR by calling 456.  We've also got an update to the website in development where customers will be able to view all their usage.

Shouldn't that be 1024 MB = 1GB?

Oops - thanks for spotting that one - it's fixed now Embarassed

Yes it should be, seems like a mistake on their part.

That is not exactly true as the original iPhone will not work.

The original model was never sold in NZ. Most of them are also locked to AT&T or O2.

I had one that was not locked, at one point and the page has nothing about them having to be from NZ so its still wrong.

It's not really designed that way. You would have to deactivate your plan renewal (your current weeks quota is retained for the rest of that week as it is already paid for) and then reactivate again.  This would change your renewal date/time and also when the renewal comes around you would still only get one plan.  At the moment you would have to call in to do that but with the next website release you will be able to do it online.
