Hi I have an old Elite Version II security alram (Arrowhead? or Crow?), and it was without power for few days as the section of the house was isolated for few days. It was on battery backup, but the battery ran out after few days. After I opened the panel and checked the battery, the unit went in Tamper state and would not accept the code as well. As of now I have taken out the fuse and the battery, so no power at all. Searched the net for installation manual, but could not find it. Arrowhead's website requires login for any downloads, and not even sure if the manual is on the site. Would anyone have the manual or can offer to help?

I think that this is the same type of alarm I installed at my parents place quite a few years ago. I should be able to get a scan of the installers manual, however, it will be a few days before I will get a chance to get this.

Make sure you charge up the battery soon or else it will die. And don't put it on concrete. You can never have enough Volvos!

Why can't you put the battery on concrete??

In technical terms the concrete is such a large thermal mass you create a temperature differential between the base and ambient that the plates deform and short out. There are other effects also, but this is the main one. It is fine if you put it on a bit of timber to get it off the concrete. If looked after a lead acid battery can last about 10 years. Otherwise it is about 2 years. You can never have enough Volvos!

The don't store batteries on concrete is a bit of a myth. The only thing likely to happen is that the concrete will start to decompose if there is any acid on the bottom of the battery.

Not sure about arrowhead, but with most alarm panels if it is in alarm, then you will need to de-activate it before you can enter programming. If your code didn't work, then it's not that code or you entered it incorrectly. If you can't turn it off then you may end up having to default the board and program it from scratch. Before you power it back up, remove one side of the siren output. Makes for a much more pleasant programming experience!
