Been working on a car this weekend. Why is it that Repco can no longer even tell me if they carry stuff anymore? They are no longer an auto parts store but a retail store that has SOME car parts. Anyone able to tell me where to get parts now? Just venting a little I guess.....

BNT is the best place to go. Way better prices than Ripco and are a proper trade store with people who know what they are selling -unlike the teenagers who seem to work at Repco nowadays.

Supsecheap are pretty good, they have same products for 1/2 and in the case of gaskets; they can be 1/10th cheaper.

Agree about Repco...they can´t even help with getting the right bulb for a headlight. Never thought about BNT before though...will give them a go.

Depends where you are but there is Autostop, Partmaster, Sedgedins (Auckland) all are pretty much the same as BNT so shop around a bit as not one of them has the cheapest prices around. They are all trade places but will move on prices if you can convince them to whereas Repco and Supercheap won't ot not likely to. If its just oil and filters Repco and Supercheap are the places for cheap stuff in that respect. Supercheap isn't much differant to Repco and was setup to directly compete with them and you will usually find a Supercheap shop very close to a repco one. Galaxy S3 Wanam 4.2.2

Supercheap and Repco is the same company, one can tell if the other has a store with stock (unless there was a policy change). I buy my oil from Supercheap when on special, and usually buy my oil filters from the UK via eBay. Takes less than a week to arrive at about $15 delivered (half is shipping cost) while locally the same filter is around $35. Usually I bundle a few filters together, whatever I need at the time, as I have a Volvo and a VW of which the specific VW was even less popular here than the Volvo (so parts are harder to get). You can never have enough Volvos!

From memory, Repco and Appco were/are the same parent company.

Repco bought Appco then Lucas service which they then merged into Appco, Repco certainly does not own Supercheap or visa versa. If you want cheap oil, which it is and not same grade as the more expensive, then Repco and Supercheap are the places as they are setup to supply retail. For older cars it matters little about the cheapness of the oil but newer cars need the additives of the more expensive oils, you can't use these cheap oils in cars that have catalytic convertors otherwise long term damage will happen and is expensive to fix. Was told 1 or 2 years ago Supercheap and Repco is the same compay and Supecheap once told me Repco had stock at a specific branch. Perhaps they just had access to their stock system, as in one could supply the other. Not using cheap oil, just wait for it to be on special. But my youngest car is 15 years old. You can never have enough Volvos!

try BNT, they supply trade, and will talk to walk-in customers if you know exactly what you need, helpful bunch I have found (just do a little research first and and give accurate info about what you're after)
