Hey. Im looking into making myself a "Man Cave". Right now its just ideas but thought I would see what fellow Geekzoners have in their Man Caves.

Pictures would be great so we could all see what you have in your Man Cave :)

My man cave, AKA the rumpus room, only has several computers, couple of tables, book shelves and some model aeroplanes in it. Boring, really! I am sure you can do much better.

A REAL man cave surely has to have a huge 3D TV, full surround sound audio, some networked comps, game consoles, a beer fridge (large) and glasses, and some comfy chairs. Plus some man stuff on the walls e.g. deer head, stuffed trout, old gun, sports posters, autographed All Black shirt, large photo of Tui girls etc etc. And this is just for starters.

Have fun and get that imagination going!!

Do have a photo somewhere, but my old man cave before I moved was the garage.... threw some old carpet on the floor, gibbed up the walls, painted it.

Added 1x 3 seater , 1x 2 seater couch, huge corner workstation for the computer, which also held the Casio keyboard when I felt creative.

One wall had cabinet holding the old 25" CRT with PS2 and old surround system for watching DVDs on. Other wall had cupboard with all my random gear in it, next to that was a small fridge usually with beer in it.

Shelving above the workstation holding my model cars and Potato Head collection :)

If we hadnt moved, next stage was to do something about the ceiling, as it was just the garage roof and got a bit cool in winter....

Damn I miss it..... :)

Mine is pretty weak.
It is just big enough for a smallish single computer desk and chair, and that is it. It is smaller than most people?s wardrobes.

What I would like is a garage sized room that I can have a pool table (ideally a full sized snooker table, but that isn?t so likely), massive projector and home cinema system and lazyboy, bar, double computer setup. But until my mother in law carks it that isn't going to happen.

Yeah, mine is sadly pretty much the same. And I share it with a washing machine, dryer and 2 cats. One day I aspire to a real man-cave! ;-)

I put a new fireplace in and, conveniently, had to remodel the entire lounge to suit the TV and sound system lol. So that is my man cave. Got the big 60" with 7.2 surround. All cabled back to a cupboard with the gear in it. Ran an HDMI to the back of the lounge for the XBOX so no need to get up to put a new game in.

there a uk series called Man Lab with one of the guys from top gear (james may) they
build a man cave

some of it kinda funny but works well like the bar they build and a computer
train to deliver beers around the room or loo paper
as a man cave needs one of them

also the gadget show from UK had some great ideas of tech to add to it

^^^ What, no pictures? Frown

Here's two pics of my man cave. This was an old shed at the back of our property. It was rotting away and I had to replace the entire north facing wall (inner lining, framing and cladding) to save it from ruin.

I use my man cave as a DIY workshop.

The house that we bought last month has 4 man caves. A sleepout, a double garage, a shed, and another sleepout.
The 'another sleepout' we will demolish as it's ugly, damp and in the way. We're going to put a fire bath in it's place.

The shed is those small poky things that are barely big enough to house a lawnmower, so that will be the garden tool shed.

The double garage is where all the tools will be and it has some workbenches already, so I guess that will be the main cave.

The sleepout is a very old building with asbestos panels, so I can't do much with it unfortunately. Fortunately, it connects to the deck and has some windows that open out to the deck - so we will convert that part of it into a bar. Not sure about the rest of it, probably a rumpus room when we have kids.

"I have too many man caves" <- First world problem.
