Little curious why Spotify is on the list, but not iTunes or any other legal music services. Definitely can't be used for illegitimate content. And WebDAV? WebDAV is uploading technology for maintaining web sites - I can't see how that could be really abused.

Hmm. True. If Pandora and Rdio aren't on the list then Spotify shouldn't be either. My workmate uses Ubuntu.One as a dropbox type service. I would think both that and Asus.Webstorage are legitimate services?

I think the "legitimate" status comes down to things like "who is behind the service?" "is the company behind the service actively monitoring it to make sure it's not used for content distribution instead of storage?" Basically people can use some of these services to upload content and then distribute a link. Microsoft and Google are very active in blocking this kind of use, but other smaller or unknown services aren't or don't have their policies established yet. I know about ASUS storage being provided by ASUS but what kind of controls do they have? Is there a statement anywhere? Flip is playing safe here - hence a comprehensive list that we're trimming based on further investigation. Currently looking at Spotify (should be fine) WebDAV Ubuntu Asus.Webstorage Yousendit flip.co.nz

Another vote for removing Hamachi. Ive got lots (10+) of clients that use it, and not for anything 'abusive/illigal'.

We've also been testing gaming over the last couple of days Call of duty black ops 1 and 2 Counter strike source Battlefield 3 Modern warfare 3 All are good. Going to have a look at xbox live tonight flip.co.nz

ScottHoogerbrug: dan: I was just wondering, dont see anything in that list related to Usenet, is there a technical reason for that? or just not a concern ? Not really a concern. It should be, its used by leechers just as much as torrents and Rapidshare etc.
