I have a pair of JPW AP2s which used to be good sounding speakers but the foam surrounds have rotted awy and so they aren't usable now. There is also some mold on the back of the cones (white spots) and dust everywhere.

so apart from a good clean they also need to be refoamed. I know  you can buy kits on ebay, etc for $20-$30 and do it yourself but I'm not too sure about doing that. What does it usually cost to get this done? I see a few places online around Auckland that advertise in specialising in this.

I want to sell the speakers but am wondering if it would be worth it to get them fixed or just chuck them on trademe for $1 res?

What would y'all do and does anyone know what it might cost? These are surplus to requirements now but they are good speakers when running properly.

I have done it to my Dynaudio 12inch drivers. Its not that tricky and doesnt take long to do. I got mine from Queensland Speaker repairs who are musicwizard2003 on Ebay. Everything you need is in the kits bar something to scrape the old glue off.

I have had one of mine done through these guys

http://www.audiomark.co.nz/

and am about to send another one up to get done.

From memory it was about $80 (+ freight for me).

I would rather buy some new speakers seeing as how mine are now 17 years old but unfortunately can't justify the $$$$ with my first snot gobbler on the way.
