I think you have to edit it within 15 minutes (or maybe have a trusted tag to do it after that?) I can't edit threads I started after 15 minutes, body or title.

Um what is the problem really here?  You purchased a some speakers and a different type were shipped to the store.  Get them to correct this.

If you want the ones they actually shipped then they presumably will be a different price, which you might be happy with?

Did they send the wrong ones, or did you not realise what you were actually ordering?  Doesn't seem that big an issue, unless I'm missing something?

The problem is they have the older model speakers.

And also the fact that I would have to wait a few more weeks before the ones I wanted turn up.

I'm not sure if I could wait that long, so was wondering if in anyone thought that getting the 9's would be ok or if I should wait for the 10's.

After receiving quite a few replies (thanks) Ive found out that there isnt a great deal of difference between them.

$1000 for Diamond 9.6's isn't a particularly good deal. You can easily go into your local Harvey Norman's / Smiths City / Monacco retailer and get Diamond 10.6's for around that.
I've had a look at the Bond and Bond website and they list Diamond 10.4's... not 10.6's, and they have them for $1499!!! That's waaaaay off the money.
Return them, point out that they're wrong and go for 10.6's.

My $0.10.

my suggestion was - only keep the 9s if value for money

that's not!

ditch them for that price ... get the 10s

Thanks for the replies. Your input is invaluable.

I know Harvey Norman had the 10.6's & 10.1's (plus sub) for $1400.00, so I'll go back to B&B and make sure that they are getting the 10.6's.

So you could get the surrounds and sub - with larger fronts for only $400 more? Surely that's the go'er?

Did I not say that I'm getting the 5.1 speaker pack (2 fronts, 1 centre, 2 rears & sub)!?

I am such a total and utter . . . (too many words to choose from!)

I'm so sorry!

Righty ho then!
For $1000, Bond's aren't ripping you off by selling you Diamond 9.4's.
A Diamond 10.6 pack for $1400 is a much more desirable, nay, better sounding deal though.
I'd certainly see if Bond & Bond can get you the Diamond 10.4 pack for 1k though, new in a box - if you can. That would be an okay offer.

Ah ok, thanks for that.

I went in there today and his software programme just said Diamond speaker pack. He is going to get his manager to look into it and give me a call.

I told him Harvey Norman are selling the 10.6, so hopefully they will get them in.

If Bond & Bond dont stock the 10.6, only the 10.4 then I will definitely be asking for a bigger discount! lol

I might not have mentioned it in this thread but Im buying 2 speaker packs, and 2 receivers so I think he's doing whatever he can to seal the deal.

You'll want to double check the specs then - the Diamond packs can be ordered with difference rears, different centre and a few different subwoofers. Just check out the brochure / web options...
So make sure you compare apples with apples.

OK thanks I'll do that.

Every site I've looked at, they've never shown which models are included.

Only Harvey Norman had them on display and they had 10.6 fronts and 10.1 rears. I wasn't able to read the centre, and I couldnt see a sub there.

If I get those I'll be happy. I might just do a bit of research on the centres and sub though.

If its any different to the Harvey Norman pack then I cant really see it as being a good deal (unless I get some more money off lol)
