Is there anybody else on here who has one of these TV's?

I've got a review model at present for a review here on Geekzone. There are a couple of issues I've noticed and I'm curious if they are present on other sets or if this TV is possibly faulty.

I am considering one of the new LED TV's. I would love to get the opinions of others regarding these. They look awesome in the shops but what about at home.

Interesting. You're afraid of insects and women. Ladybugs must render you catatonic.

The one I saw was no better then any other current LCD IMO - still had purple people when looking at it from the side, there was a bit less light spillage onto the surfaces infront of it but still miles away from a good plasma for dark areas when there was some bright white on the screen. In that situation you can sort of make out where the backlighiting was and wasnt.

No, not black level, all the LED tv has to do is turn the lights off to make black, the detail in the dark areas on it was still what was lacking - when the light is on because there was some light needed.

Yeah, in some respects its better then a normal fluro lit LCD, but 2.5 times the price better? Hell no.

Watching a TV in a store is hardly a good place to be judging it though!

I actually went to Harvey Norman today to specifically test something on the Samsung LED's since the demo model I have here appears to have a fault. Looking at the picture instore I'd opt for one of the Panasonic Plasma's that was next to it. I will admit that I am a Plasma fan but don't believe I'm biased, I just find LCD's harsh to watch and prefer the softer look that a Plasma delivers.

The Samsung LED's to offer absolutely fantastic brightness levels which is far in excess of what you see from a Plasma or LCD. They are also exceptionally thin which may be appealing if you're wall mounting it.

After had a friend around yesterday who does a lot of TV installs and he noticed the poor off axis colour and that was something I observed today on both the Samsung and Sony LED's. People's skin colour goes from being quite natural to being very pale.

LED backlights are obviously going to be the norm for LCD's in the not too distant future, I personally don't think it's delivering significant enough advantages over regular LCD's at present to justify the cost difference.
