AV Sender problems...HELPP!!

Folks, I have an AV sender unit AR-1830 / 1831 that doenst seem to work at all. All I get is white noise / static, and sometimes a very bad picture of a channel (not the one the transmitter is sending - some random channel!) This is what I have tried turning off so far to eliminate interference - microwave - energy saver bulbs - all av devices - cordless & mobile phones - WLAN devices - Wireless cards on laptops Still no change... the IR remote extender however seems to work perfectly? Very frustrating - any ideas? thanks, ash

Oh..and I have tried the following source devices DVD player Satellite decoder

Firstly, check both devices are on the same channel (there should be 3-4) and if they are, power both down and try powering them up again. (maybe it polls the switch on bootup?) take it back to the shop, these devices either work well or terribly and it's hard to pin down what makes them fail.

even with all the other 2.4GHz going on here I still manage to get a picture out of them, not a pretty noise free one but the signal goes thru. I would say your sender is stuffed. Richard rich.ms

ahh yep...tried all channels (there are 3 to choose from) with the same channel on both of course...and still no luck... unfortunately it was listed as working perfectly on trademe...will see how the return process goes.

Just a quick check, are you sure your video output signal is working and this cable is ok too? Sorry but as paradoxsm says, these either work ok, or their performance is crap. They were pretty rubbish in my house so I took them straight back.

Have you managed to set up the sender/receiver so that they are only 1m apart? And then tried testing them? What sort of situation do you live in, house in the country, burbs, flat or appartment? Do you have a nice set of high voltage pylons going through your backyard?

@Jaxson : I presume you mean video cable from the source device? Yes this is RCA, and works fine. tested 2 cables just to make sure im not going insane. @rscole : Yep i tried 2 tests. Plug source (1st was DVD player and 2nd time around was a standard SKY box) into xmitter. Setup the reciever to connect to the TV. Nothing, bar white noise. Except, it was less than a 1m apart.... I live in Goodwood heights, Manukau, no pylons, but ocassionally there's some 747 noise but not too harsh :-D. It is a burby house.

The 8 wifi networks, 2 cordless phones, and bluetooth see to it that they are unusable here. IMO they should really be sold with a big warning on the box that "probably will not work for you" or similar. Richard rich.ms

I had same problems with a 2.4GHZ from DSE sometimes a vague picture but mainly none and lots of noise but no sound, I put it down to neighbouring devices after I had turned everything off in the house. I took mine back and swapped for a 5.8GHZ and it works perfect.
