I have a Wharfedale Topaz SW-12 sub that i believe has blown voice coil, makes no sound at all, and pushing it in manually you can hear scratching noises

Is this worth getting repaired?
If so does anyone know a good repairer in Dunedin?

Unsure how much a coil replacement would be and trying to see whats the better option

Sub is same as this one:

Thanks

You could do a bit of testing yourself to see if the problem is speaker driver or amplifer related.

Then could look at replacement parts:

The fact remains though that trademe or a new unit is probably better than paying for repairs.  It's up to you though to work out how much you liked that particular unit or to check out alternative options.

I got replacement speaker covers for my Wharfdale speakers relatively cheaply and easily, from the NZ distributer. If you can work out what the problem is maybe you can fix it yourself, or get the parts and have a technician do it for you.

Waiting on a price to come back for a new speaker from a wharfedale repair agent, had a car sub that I put in, unsure if it would work ok due to the 8-4ohm, searching about it resulted it mixed reviews but it appears to be Working fine
