Hi! I've got an LG 42" LM6410 but it does not have a headphone 3.5mm out jack. My Samsungs smart tv has it.

What would be a smart way to plug a 3.5mm headset into the TV?

There are some optical to headphone amps on eBay, e.g. this or this . You should check that the TV can be configured to output PCM stereo on the digital output as neither of these amps will be able to decode Dolby Digital, which may show up on some broadcast HD programs.

Just grab yourself a DAC and a 2-1 cable adaptor.
I'm picking $150 all up for cables + DAC locally.
It's going to be a regular scenario come the end of the analogue sunset me thinks...
