So I'm going to be inheriting a Samsung HT-BD2 7.1CH Blu-ray Home Cinema System. I love the sound that comes out of it but think the blu-ray player is a bit bleh. Any recommendations for upgrading the player while still using the sound system?

Will also be inheriting a 52" Samsung Series 6 LCD tv. I'm pretty sure it's a decent tele, but wondering how I would go about checking if it's all set up properly? It was originally just bought and turned on with minor configuration before it got used. What's the easiest way to get firmware updates?

Also thoughts on Wiselink and Anynet?

Lastly, yes, I know they're both old old systems. But since they're free, I'm not complaining.
