Laptop repair in Wellington

A friend's laptop (Vostro 1520) might need a replacement power jack. I don't have a soldering kit myself, and I really don't have the time. Anyone recommend a good laptop repair company in Wellington? TIA.

Udo: Is the laptop company still around? They used to bd good. Yes The Laptop Company is still around and going strong. That being said the TLC brand is primarily focused on corporate support, for "end-user" laptop repairs there is a seperate company called "Techroom" http://www.techroom.co.nz/ disclaimer I am an employee of The Laptop Company

Contacted the Techroom. Was informed they don't repair Dells. I think the issue may be with the sourcing of parts (perhaps only available to Dell authorised repairer?). He didn't know of any Dell repair shops in Wellington. Don't suppose anyone here knows of one?

Try ringing Dell directly. Did try Dell, hung up after waiting long enough. Sourcing the parts separately sounds like a good plan. You're probably right about sourcing the part myself (power jacks seem fairly cheap) and getting someone else to repair it. Cheers.
