Does anyone have any reviews or links to people yaying or naying this product?
http://www.dicksmith.co.nz/product/XC8589/asus-f501a-xx143h-notebook
I can't seem to find anything online, I'm not too bothered about speed etc, it just looks really really good,

I know it's gimmicky but the touch enabled version is the same price too.

Thanks in advance,

~Dylan

Slow HDD, slow Graphics, low display resolution.

But for the price it's about standard.

Be aware there's no disc tray, you could probably get a lot better speced for not much more money

Anything as good looking as this though? ;)
I was just browsing through the mall yesterday and happened to walk into dick smith and it caught my eye, plus I have a massive soft sport for asus products!

I think I saw that one (or the touchscreen version) when I was in Disk Smiths the other day. Looked quite nice and I'm sure they will sell plenty, but I wonder if it stays good looking for long?

Work pc is an HP Probook 6450b and it has this plastic covered in silver coating to look like metal... but of course the coating wears and now there are these dark patches. I prefer black laptops unless they are real metal bodies.

Graphics might be ok if you have a real pc at home for more demanding needs. These days I'd want to upgrade the drive to an SSD, but you don't expect an SSD at that price.

Plus, if it's windows 8 you might regret not getting a touch screen.

Yeah I've got a pretty decent design/gaming/workhorse PC at home. It would be an impulse buy rather than a "I need a new laptop" buy. I'm going to pricespy it and see if it has been cheaper in the past though.

I like asus notebooks. Thought this looked quite nice (build, not specs) until I saw one in person, it's fatter than it appears in pictures, and the quality feels quite poor (what can you expect for that price)

The specs are a lie too, it's not HD4000 it's the HD2500 I believe, which is about half the speed.
I actually like the HD4000 because it plays the games I like quite well.

Also core 2 duo..?? In 2013 really (no, I know it's a misprint).

Playtech.co.nz have one like this for now but smaller with a touchscreen for a similar price

Crap inbuilt camera too. HDD is easy to swap out, the low res panel not so much, at 15" you really need 1080 to not be counting pixels at a normal working distance.
