Hi guys.

For a few months now I have been having problems with my Internet. All of a sudden it will lose connection. Even when im browsing the net it just dies at random times. I have noticed that it happens more in the morning/when I first turn my PC on and also it sometimes happens when the phone rings or somebody rings out. I find that weird because I have filters/splitters (Not sure what its called) on all the phone lines.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Maybe turn my PC off, go around the house and unplug then replug in all the filters/splitters onto the phones?

Cheers

Are you connected via wireless or Ethernet? Because if via Wireless because some Cordless phones with 2.4GHz freq have a nasty habit with interfering with wireless connections.

Your filters clearly aren't working correctly.

Your best bet is to get a faster filter installed. Your ISP can arrange Chorus to come and do this for around $200

If you are connected via ethernet then look at the modem and see if the connection died there too.

Go around the house and unplug EVERYTHING, then use the Internet - if it works fine, follow John's suggestion.

If you are using WiFi, then connect via ethernet, turn WiFi off. If it works, most likely interference as said - either cordless phones, Bluetooth, microwave oven, etc.
