Topic # 107947 22-Aug-2012 22:10 Send private message

I would like to join Telecom Prepaid mobile and I got a SIM card already, which of course comes with an 027 number.

I wanted to port my existing mobile number to Telecom and I am currently with 2degrees pay monthly / on account.  Can anyone tell me what sort of document / information I need to bring to a Telecom store to get it done?  Also, can I do it on the phone instead (and if so, what number should I call)?

And usually how long would it take?

Thanks!

Yep, as John R says, SIM # and the mobile number you are porting.

Shouldn't need too much to do this in store, typically about 4 hours for a port.

Try the prepaid help desk on 0800 32 32 32, they should be able to port the number. Call from another phone however other than the Telecom Prepaid number you have now.

If you're currently on an account with 2 degrees you will need your account number rather than sim number

Yes.  In either case you need to know the phone number but if it is on an account at 2 Degrees then you need the account number.  If it is on a prepaid with them then you need the SIM number.  As you have said you are on an account you will need the account number.

If you have no luck on 0800 32 32 32 you can try 0800 800 123 as they can do it too.
