Just bought a Telecom nokia 6275.

Spent a few hours on the net today looking at different headsets which I want for the mp3 player and handsfree microphone.

So, my questions :

1)Does this phone have A2DP?

2)Does this phone have AVRCP ?

What i want is a bluetooth stereo headset so that i can use it to answer calls and listen to mp3s without needing to use the phone...audio quality is very important.

The ones i have seen and like so far are the Nokia 12W,nokia bh501, motorola HT820, motorolla miniblue H5 and sony ericsson hbh-ds970.

3) Will any of those work on my phone???

The nokia nz site doesnt have any of those 3 nokia headsets as being compatible with this phone, but maybe they could stil work?

The nokia site states there are no bluetooth compatible stereo headsets...ie none that can do mp3....the ones that can are not bluetooth like the HS3 and HS8....(saw another one called HS6 on trademe but again not on the compatible list for the 6275).

4) Does anyone have any idea on the quality of the nonbluetooth headsets?

5) Any others you reccomend?

Apologise for all the questions and thanks for your help in advance....

The phone is not A2DP, so while the headphones may pair and work, they will sound rubbish.

You can however use your own headphones with the Nokia AD-46 Pop Port to 3.5mm adaptor. :)

I can't reply to PM from a pda, geekzone limitation..

it won't work witht the stereo headsets in full mode. it will play mp3's etc through bluetooth but will be 8khz mono. as for compatibility, the nokia 40 series v2 are pretty reliable with almost anything bluetooth. choose a headset based on the quality and suitability for your needs. just watch the quality of the outgoing bluetooth mic, some are horrible. do your research first. my headset of choice would be a really old larger nokia model which is no longer avail. the mic is closer to the mouth which helps in noisy situations

Hmmmm

My main purpose is to listen to my mp3's with the headset, so it has to be stereo. I guess that means Bluetooth is out :-(

The phone does have a 2.5mm headset port on the side which the manual claims is stereo.....I suppose i will be able to use any brand that has a 2.55mm connection with this in that case?

Well i had a look around quite a few stores today....NONE have 2.5mm headsets....One telecom store did have them but they sounded atrocious with the fm radio and could hardly hear anything when we tested a phone call to it.  Didnt have any mp3s on it to test though....Dont know if it was the headset that was crap or the manual is lying about it being a stereo instead of mono port.....

So things are not looking too good *sigh*

What is the point of having a 2.5mm port when there are no decent headsets avail ? I dont really want to buy an adaptor from 2.5 to 3.5....maybe il hav to resort to it or use a port plug headset (again tryinig to find reviews on them drew blanks so no idea how good quality they are)

I 'll TRY and test one tomorrow. I can let you know what "brands" will work.. of if not, fit a smaller plug to say some $20 sonys. I do have a couple of spare Samsung ones or could spare with the "popper" port ones.

Don't the Nokia headsets use a 4 Pole 2.5mm jack???

You are able to get Senheisser headsets that have the correct poles etc. Not sure which TCNZ stores actually carry them though.

Not sure what you mean by 'Pole'....but the telecom store had a couple of Nokia 2.5mm stereo earbuds which were awful.....

Oh and I have confirmed that the 2.5mm port is indeed stereo....

Are the Senheisser ones 2.5mm?  Quality/Price?

Thanks muchly Smile

I have tested the external port... Stereo on both the 6265 and 6275.. mono it seems on many of the rest.

As for headphone/headsets, not all work on all phones. I imported a stack of really nice quality "earbuds" for phones which sound excellent. sadly there was no real interest back then due to mp3 phones being rather scarce (2002) and I have donated the rest away. There is some Sennheiser prodcut avail with either "mobile" plugs or a simple inline adaptor.
I have a pair of "street-style" headphones which are a bit "cheaply" made but still sound great. some come with adapters I have heard which can be bought seperatly.
I went into a Telecom store for you last night and totally forgot to even ask! Christmas rush and all!

one thing to note though, The output of the Nokias is a bit limited "for fear of damaging hearing..." Groan.

"4 pole" means the headsets also have a microphone/button. if you look at the plug and can see 2 black strips, it's only 3-pole.. 3 back stripes between 4 metal bits...... 4 pole.
