So clearly I got an alert at $150 but maybe I'd already actually used more than that by then and the correct amount used hadn't been received by Telecom yet.


Sounds the most likely answer.

Apologies for not updating this thread.

As suspected sometimes it takes a while for data charges to filter back to the carrier here, so that's the reason for the sudden increase.

Incidentally with Telecom's new pricing the whole trip would have cost me $80! And I would have been able to use more data too!

Haha yeah something like that! Didn't realise it'd been a month already...

Hopefully spending 10 days or so in Canada at the end of this month so it'll be good to continue to use my phone like normal without worrying too much about the price!
