Hi all,

I have Telecom ADSL2 and I just upgraded my TP Link W8960N and noticed that it has the following settings:

Bitswap Enable

SRA Enable

By default Bitswap enable is on. Should I turn SRA Enable on too?

I am not 100% certain, but going from memory, bitswap is an ADSL (1) feature, whereas seamless rate adaptation is a similar feature of ADSL2/+. Both allow the line to adapt to different conditions without dropping the connection to retrain.

My view is you shouldn't really mess with your DSL line configuration settings, as they should come configured correctly out of the box (otherwise it wouldn't have a Telepermit) , and it's up to the ISP (Telecom in this case) to get your line profile correctly configured. And if it's incorrectly configured then ring us up and get the appropriate profile change as the settings are managed in the DSLAM.

Messing around with those settings only tends to break stuff.

I work for Telecom, but as always my views are my own.

My modem is not one supplied by my ISP and I just flashed a firmware update on it then returned it to factory settings.
