I just picked up a Nokia 6120 Classic, nice little phone which works really but I'm having an issue configuring it to work on Vodafone. I added the www Vodafone APN and have got that the browser to use that but I cannot change the server for MMS. Despite adding VF MMS to the APN list the only ones that will show in MMS settings are: TelecomContent, TelecomData and TelecomMMS. Both the Vodafone ones I have created show under the browser connection settings which makes me wonder if MMS on this particular model is locked down. Of course I can change the settings for TelecomMMS to the Vodafone but that is just going to be a pain when I have my XT Sim in 90% of the time. Does anyone have any ideas or am I just overlooking something simple? Devices: Samsung Captivate (AT&T Galaxy S) and HTC One on Telecom. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

I want the ability to be able to use both Telecom AND Vodafone Sim cards with full functionality. Devices: Samsung Captivate (AT&T Galaxy S) and HTC One on Telecom. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

This is a Telecom XT phone? Does it operate on the right frequencies to work on Voda?

You can certainly set them up to work with Vodafone but it's a bit of a fiddle as you need to create the 3 extra settings and remember to set them up to associate when swapping sims. Mine was happily running Telecom, 2Degrees, Compass and Vodafone before I took it to the shop (I actually wiped it as I handed it over in case they caught wind of my fiddling) There is a blog post just around the corner for these: In the 6120c.. menu > Settings > Phone sett > [Options] New access point and add these 3 setups To get to the proxy areas [Options] > Advanced settings Leave all the other settngs as the defaults. NAME: VFNZ Gateway APN: "live.vodafone.com" Proxy: "172.30.38.3" Port: "8080" Homepage/Bearer address "http://live.vodafone.co.nz" Authentication: "Normal" VFNZ PXT APN: "live.vodafone.com" Proxy: "172.30.38.3" Port: "8080" Homepage/Bearer address "http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend" Authentication: "Normal" VFNZ Internet APN: "internet" or "www.vodafone.net.nz" The "internet" one is preferred as this is unencumbered internet/mailserver access. Proxy: Port: Homepage/Bearer address "http://m.google.com" < Whatever you choose in here such as m.nzherald.co.nz Authentication: "Normal"

Sorry I cannot officially test as I do not have a Vodafone SIM but I just added these settings and assigned the MMS access under messaging > Message settings > MMS settings to VFNZ PXT and it accepted it no trouble. Mine has just been reflashed with TNZ firmware and works fine so yours should too. And HELLO Bradley! long long time no see. Additional settings to remove annoyances. Head into WEB and immediately press "STOP" Options > Settings > General > [Access Point] (o) Always ask. [ok] while you are at it, Turn off the "Mini Map" as it scrolls much faster without it. Also change the [Tworld] right softkey under to "internet" or something else. General Settings, Personalization, Shortcuts, "Right selection key" and presto, change it to something useful.

Hey thanks for those, I'll give them a try. I had created those three settings but I had managed to make a mistake with the MMS. How do you associate them with a sim card? Purely by changing the AP when the SIM is in or something different? Devices: Samsung Captivate (AT&T Galaxy S) and HTC One on Telecom. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

Well I got the Vodafone MMS to work. I had called the setting Vodafone MMS instead of VFNZ PXT. I womder if that had something to do with it. Devices: Samsung Captivate (AT&T Galaxy S) and HTC One on Telecom. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

You'd have to manually head into messaging and then change the settings each and every time the SIM is swapped, a pain I know. As for the browser, set that menu so you select the AP every time it connects, select the obvious APN for what sim is inserted and what you are doing. The mms profile name shouldn't affect it but maybe it does, I just took apart the standard settings from my old Vodafone mobile that is now on 2degrees. Glad I could help as most of the service providers are strangely quite vacant on these settings, especially in Australia.

Well thanks for the help, looks like it is all working perfectly. Swapping the MMS setting every time you change SIM can be a pain and if you are too slow you get the text telling you to head to PXT World. I really just picked up the VF prepaid SIM to take advantage of the free 100MB data. Now if only there was a way to change the default browser to Opera Mini.
