Hi There,
Is anyone else using one of these telecom supplied routers and having issues?

It reboots, sometimes upto 3x a day (that ive noticed, could be more)

I setup correct port forwarding 16000 UDP for game software (GameRanger)
This will work one day, then fail the next
When it fails, GameRanger informs me its a Symmetric NAT Router and to setup the port forwarding...
(Ive confirmed all Ips are still correct and other ports ive opened continue to work correctly)

Trying to use the web interface it insists on 'timing out' after performing various actions (intermittent)

Anyone else had this?

Ive been looking at other routers, unsure on what brand to pick, but would prefer to save money if possible, I have only had this router a few months

I have a TG585 and don't have any problem. I would suggest talking to the Help Desk, they may replace it.

Cheers

I had a problem for a while with port forwarding. When you go to forward the ports, you have the option of ANY, UDP, TCP. If you type in port number #### or whatever required, you must assign a either UDP or TCP. If you leave it on ANY, it will not lock in the ports and conveniently not have them there once you go to assign the new application or game to a PC on your network.

I hope this fixes the problem and is not too confusing :D

To give you a quick example, if you want to forward ports 7000,8000 and 9112, then you must do the following

8000
TCP 8000 to 8000
8000
UDP 8000 to 8000

7000
TCP 7000 to 7000

and just keep on going.

Thanks for the advice, I did have the ports set as UDP and TCP separately in the past but it just refused to work,
Ive now reset the router to defaults and so far its behaving, I also read these modems like to reboot when they get too hot, so ive raised it up a little to allow more air flow, why the insist on putting fans on the bottom of devices, i dont know... but so far all seems good
