My Neighbour some months ago signed up for the Telecom Total Home package.
After using this plan for a period it became evident that 10 GB Broadband was not enough, so they have upgraded their broadband to the Pro Broadband.  This option is available when you look on the telecom web site. - http://www.telecom.co.nz/content/0,6845,206398-204546,00.html

She is now being told that because she is no longer on the 10 GB plan, then the unlimited national free phone calls are no longer available.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

You can add the pro Plan for $30 more on Total Home, $40 more on Total Home Light or $50 more on Total Home Starter.

Look under optional Broadband extra's.

Sounds like a confused CSR to me

You can see the optional upgrades clearly enough on the bottom of the compare packages page for the Total Home plans.

Well as it turned out there may have been a communication problem with the telecom operator my Neighbour spoke to the other day.

This afternoon the problem was resolved by simply ringing 123 again and this time speaking to a completely different operator.

They now are back on the Total Home plan with free toll calls and the bigger broadband plan!

I have many time found that if you do not get the answer you want to hear from telecom, simply ring back straight away and ask the same questions with another operator and eventually the issues will get resolved!

Yes that's life it's no different to getting a slow operator at the supermarket checkout and so on.
