OK.  so my Exchange has just been upgraded to ADSL2+ But Telecom say I am too far away to benifit from this and refuse to swap me over to the ADSL2 Equipment.

I am about 1km Walking distance from the Exchange.

About 9 Months ago I had my line swapped after heavy rain made my sync speed drop from 4000Kbps to 50Kbps.

When they were connecting it up they Chorus Tech did some tests and said when ADSL2+ is installed I will be able to get it as I have a very good sync speed now.

From my router my line speeds are:

Downstream Rate: 7786 Kbps Upstream Rate: 742 Kbps

From what I have read and been told this should be more than enough to support ADSL2+.

Telecom are willing to send a Chorus Tech to come around and do tests to see wither or not I can get ADSL2.

My Problem is that 1 They want to charge me $80 to do so.
I wouldn't mind having to pay the $80 if it wasn't for the fact I already had the tests done last time Chorus was here.

Edit: Oh I am a Telecom Retail customer on The PRO plan.

Would like ADSL2+ in selwyn district too while theyre at it.

Only Rolleston having it is a bit of a bummer. Gainsborough gets GPON too :(
ADSL1 is getting a bit boring.

Wishful thinking..
