Ok, so currently connected to Telecom broadband using Linksys WAG160N ADSL2+ Router.

Our cabinet was recently upgraded to ADSL2+, but there are known issues with the Linksys routers not being compatible with the ADSL2 equipment installed in the Telecom cabinet.
Telecom assure us that our line is connected to ADSL2+, so must be a issue with our linksys router.

So we are unable to connect to ADSL2+ even after upgrading to the latest firmware.

Telecom offer the TG585 Wireless gateway for $99.95, which seems like a fair price, and the benefit that its supported by Telecom.

Does anyone use the TG585? What other ADSL2 modem would you recommend around the same price as the TG585?

I also see that TP-Link make some nice units, and wireless N compatible.

Am I going to end up in the same situation, if the TP-Link units are not compatible with the ADSL2 Telecom gear in my cabinet?

The TP-Link TD-W8960N are around $15 more than the Thomson TG585, but offer better range and Wireless N.

Pitty there isnt somewhere that you can lease a unit for a short while to check what speeds you get on your own line before forking out for the entire unit!....

Hi, the TP-Link is fully compatible with Telecoms ISAMs, they use Broadcom chipsets that are matched to the ISAM ADSL1/2+ cards (which also use Broadcom) and work fully with the IKANOS VDSL2 cards.

Edit, I just read your other threads, is this WAG you are having issues with stuck on ADSL1, how close are you to the cabinet.

We have a linksys ag310 connected to a telecom cabinet.
It has been stable with no problems with connections or dropouts etc.
The only thing I have noticed is the slow upstream connection.
It's currently connected at 17590Kbps down and 392Kbps up.
Before cabnetisation we were connected at around 8000Kbps down and 800 Kbps up.

It hasn't made any difference to the Internet speeds we can notice...

Hopefully there will be a fix for this. I read that there would be one in the new year but it hasn't happened yet.
