Not something I came across. AT what stage did that come up?

And before you loaded the new rom, you selected wipe dalvik cache, wipe user data, and wipe cache?

Interesting, you used androidiani openrecovery?
also in openrecovery did you select a new baseband? I used Thai.zip which is working well for me.

I would try to reboot again holding x, select apply update to get into openrecovery, wipe cache and dalvik and user data, apply cm6 again, apply gapps again, then select baseband as thai and see what happens.

Also, you've unplugged from the computer now i assume?

I found i got stick a couple of times because i left it plugged in which made it reboot faster than i wanted it to

Sorry - I don't have a "Thai" option - the update is a ZIP file which I just select

Yip that's right, you select the cm6.zip, then the gapps.zip, then when you go back one page there is an option to select baseband, you go into that and select thai.zip, then go back a page and reboot

Ok - tried that. Same result. How do I get back to the old ROM?

How odd, you can revert back to the old one using the nandroid backup you made, but i've not had to do that part so I'm not 100% sure on how to.

Ok - found how to Restore through Nandroid. I may try it all over again using the other set of instructions. Worth a crack.

It's a beautiful thing.

I think the problem was I was using Droid updates, not Milestone.

So I followed the 2nd lot of instructions you gave, to the letter, including the update to 2.3, and.....wow. Now *that's* impressive.

A great deal of thanks, joff - works perfectly.

Glad to see you have it running now! Was a bit worried I had steered you wrong. I can recommend using launcherpro which gives you a lot of options for making it pretty/ user friendly

Last couple of things (promise!!!).

What kind of stability issues did you find with 2.3? And if there are any "updated" 2.3 versions is it simple to update, or is it a complete restore again?

I just found that my battery didn't last as long, my phone ran quite warm and sometimes ringtones didn't work. These things could probably have been sorted with some tinkering but 2.2 did everything I need and worked well immediately

Oh and next time is easy as, reboot into recovery, clear caches and data, apply new rom, select baseband again, boom done
