Hi there.

I'm currently on the 20GB Total Home plan, costing $115/month, and I was wondering:
1) Am I able to up my data cap to, say, 40GB
and 2) What the extra cost of this would be? (I realise it's free to switch between plans, but if the new plan is for example $125/month, what would my monthly bill be?)

My billing date is the 18th of the month. If we use the 29th as an example i'd be on the 12th day of the cycle, would that mean my monthly bill would be 12/30*115 + 18/30*125?

Hope this makes sense... it's late at night.

if you dont need toll calls http://www.telecom.co.nz/packages/packages/plansandpricing/totalhomebroadband this mite be a better option

Telecom charges a month in advance and any charges would be pro rata, so you'd get a credit for the un-used portion of your current plan, and then charged a part month to the end of your cycle and a month in advance for your new add on / plan.

This is my parents' account so the toll calls is a must :).

Okay so i've already paid for this month's.
So i'd be charged for next month at $125 and charged 18/30*125 for the rest of the switch over and credited 18/30*115 for the unused part of my current plan?

I.e. my next bill will be:
$125 for following month
$75 for switching to the new plan (29/01 - 18/02)
and a $69 credit for the unused portion of my current plan?

If you're staying on the Total Home base plan i.e. 20GB, the rental won't be impacted, only the extra $10 for the additional 20GB would be month in advance and pro-rated.

In this case there would be no credit, as the 20GB is included in the base rental which you're not changing. So you'd be charged from the day your plan change takes effect to the end of your billing cycle (pro-rata) and one month in advance ($10 as in the example above).

If you switched to Total Home Broadband then the base plan comes into play, but it should equal out some what.
