Does anyone have experience of the $6 / day data roaming while in Aus? I'm off next week, was hoping I could use my phone as a hotspot for my wife's phone plus laptop, I can't see why it just wouldn't be all data on one phone. I'm not going to be doing massive amounts of data but would be nice not to each be hit with $6/day. Thanks, Bill
Just be aware that if you usage is considered excessive (Which they may deem so if you use more data in Oz than you normally do in NZ) then they may cut you off, or you may not be eligible for the $6 cap. Would be a good idea to read the T's and C's before you do it
When I'm in Auckland I'd average 20-50 MB a day on my Telecom plan
When in Wellington I average 200-500MB a day depending on customer visits, demos, webinars etc
I'm off to OZ on Friday and I was hoping to make use of the Telecom $6/day but I'm guessing my usage would be close to my Wellington trips.

thanks for the replies, I read the Telecom T&C's which waffle on about fair / normal use but they do say a warning will be given before any excess charges / disconnection are applied. I'm on a 1GB monthly plan and rarely use more than half that because I'm always near wifi - so I'm sure my 'average' use roaming will be much higher, will be interesting to see what is considered excess.
