I'm curious about how someone joins GZ today and from the first post appears as a Trusted member. I noticed it in this thread:

Because the people who run/moderate this site know the person in question IRL and know she can be trusted.

Based on credentials they've presented to a mod, or their credentials are already established through personal knowledge of the person. The mod will then have discussion with other mods before the status is listed. Freitasm posted a thread ages ago on how the trusted status works.

As posted, Trusted status is based on establishing credentials, in real life. It's not based on number of posts or for how long someone has been registered on Geekzone.
