8.4MB in QuickTime format. You will need QuickTime or QuickTime Alternitive to view. Enjoy.

Edit: All props and respect to Fossie for recording and converting the clip. I merely uploaded it. However I will happily accept any ego boost you send my way

Congratulations to Mauricio on his new role, I guess he's finally been outed about his closet desire to work in marketing....

Now all he needs to bang on about is Customer Experience, Market Shifts, and convince himself that Broadband NZ really is OK after all, and the training shall be complete....

This is the thing with live radio and TV: we had 18 minutes on air on Radio NZ and you get what we say. TV3 recorded about 15 minutes, but only used 15 seconds with something taken a bit out of context.

When I was contacted the thing was because I have had previous experience with Windows Vista and they wanted to know things about it. They asked pertinent questions...

Also, while having dinner last night with Microsoft and a bunch of tech journalists (most of them from Auckland, only three from Wellington) I was intrigued with how many of them are writing about Windows Vista and Office 2007 without ever having used either - not even the beta or the downloadable demos.

Someone even asked, after all this time on beta, what was the "ribbon" on Office everyone is talking about.

Then you know why tech sections are so bad in some papers...

Thats journalism for you. I know exactly what you mean having experienced it a couple of times myself in print and on TV. Journalism is not about truth or accuracy, its about ratings, nothing more, nothing less. When your spot came up last night it was no surprise to me that it was heavily edited. I bet the Microsoft guy would have loved to have his comment about 59% majority edited out. It will no doubt be the focus of the MS bashers, even though technically it is correct.

Journalism is a farce, makes me sick to think that they would write articles about Vista without even using it. If this is how they behave in the technical field, makes you wonder how they behave in mainstream TV when the stakes and paychecks are higher.
