Hi all,

I'm wanting to monitor our internet traffic from a router level (being able to pick usage from phones, ipads, laptops etc.) and have been trying to configure NetWorx to talk to my router.

I'm using a Vodafone Compete router (the white square one). I've enabled the SNMP settings on the router under Management / Access Control / SNMP (for both LAN and WAN) but the software is still not talking to the router.

Am I missing a step? I've tried all the IP settings and nothing works ... so a bit stumped.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

Matt

I'm not really familiar with NetWorx so I'm approaching this purely from a troubleshooting basics PoV. I'm also working on the assumption that the app runs locally and doesn't require any kind of port forwarding.

HG556A routers can be a little tricky with changing settings - you have to go Setting --> Save Reboot --> Save Reboot for some changed to actually be saved to the router and take effect.

  • Have you enabled SNMP for both LAN and WAN traffic?
  • Did you restart the router?
  • Have you closed down and restarted the application since this was done?

Thanks for your reply, just had a quick look before work. I noticed that there are two places to turn on SNMP, 'Access Control' and then within "Access Control -- Services'. I've turned both of these on and will save and reboot.

The app is local and doesn't require any port forwarding.

I'll let you know how I get on!

Still no luck ... may have to stick to separate loggers and add up myself!
