I haven't watched TVNZ streams for quite some time, and tried to watch the live ONE News stream today, but:

Used to work, so maybe it's a geolocation detection issue.

http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news (click on the live stream button on the right column under the "Latest News" bit - this will only appear during Breakfast, ONE News, Close Up, TVNZ News at 8)

Sent an email off to TVNZ about this, but I wanted to find out if anyone on Vodafone fixed line broadband has the same issue?

Are you on Vodafone's own red network or their rented lines from Telecom?

Red network and Vodafone must have opened a new IP range and TVNZ do not know about it

Red network - but I don't think that matters since its still Vodafone dishing out the IPs.

NEW: Wow John - are you some sort of ghost hanging around threads, ready to pounce and answer questions for me? Or are you some sort of mind reader? :P

I also noted that in the email to TVNZ - that there is a possibility that Vodafone have a new IP range (but I said it was unlikely... Undecided)

I'll be restarting my modem to attempt to get a new IP and I'll try again tonight.

Not unlikely at all. ISPs add new ranges every so often. Just last week Telecom advised of a new range being assigned to XT. So yes, I believe Vodafone may have added a new range. And I know Vodafone doesn't participate in the NZNOG mailing list like Telecom and others do (a lack of "community spirit" there?)

If TVNZ uses a database similar to what Geekzone uses, it may just be that same problem we have that some Telecom CDMA addresses show up as "U.S." and some Vodafone addresses show up as "Australia" and people ask why their flags are not "NZ".

Well guys - restarted modem and got a new IP of 118.92.213.xxx

Works now, so I'll just have to wait to see whether TVNZ have updated their geolocation database.
