From Here http://computerworld.co.nz/news.nsf/telecommunications/vodafone-billing-back-in-kiwi-hands

Vodafone says it has repatriated its billing and customer management systems to New Zealand, three years after merging them with those of Vodafone Australia in a problem-plagued trans-Tasman project rumoured to have cost at least $300 million.

Spokesman Paul Brislen says the decision was made following last year's merger of Vodafone Australia with former rival mobile network operator Hutchison.

This happened over Easter, I wonder if this means all those complaints about the 777 and topup and prepay and online bill viewing errors will melt away once the NZ ops team have physical and root access to their own billing systems?

Seems like it moved across quite painlessly... And I assume they had to go out and buy new hardware to run all this on in NZ so it should be faster as well????

Yes much faster hardware and the migration was a great success

I know currently in Australia the website has been a lot more stable than just a few months ago. I couldn't login at all on Vodafone Australia after 6pm every single night until recently.

Data usage updates are now within 24 hours too! Hope this is the same back in NZ.
